Jaroslav ______________________________________________________________________ The ALSA professional team [2nd December 1999, Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic] The ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) professional team has been founded. The team has two members: Jaroslav Kysela from Czech Republic, the ALSA team leader, and Abramo Bagnara from Italy. These members are hired by SuSE and work on full-time on the ALSA project. The primary goals for the near future are to finish API development by two months and to ensure the merge into the official Linux kernel tree. After these steps will be the main work the continuous improvement of the ALSA sound API and adding more lowlevel drivers for common soundcards available at current market. On ALSA ALSA[1] project was founded by Jaroslav Kysela in the beginning of 1998 at the non-commercial basis. This project is indended to improve the situation in the Linux sound support. The current number of worldwide contributors is above ten. On SuSE SuSE[2], with a workforce of over 200 people, is one of the leading international Linux companies.
