Linux aufs Notebook?

      Hallo erst einmal
Wie bekomme ich Linux auf mein Notebook, das schon etwas älter ist und
noch kein cdrom hat?
Die Installation mittels NFS klappt nicht so ganz, logischerweise werde
ich mit dem netten
Hinweis "permission denied" abgewiesen.
Das habe ich nun verstanden, leider aber noch nicht, was ich verändern
muss, dass es klappt.
Ein weiteres Problem ist, dass ich noch keine Ahnung von Netzwerk usw
habe.
Ist es wirklich so kompliziert?
