I'm using Debian. "Sarge", so there's no git stuff in mainline but the
packages in backports look hopeful.

How much download is likely to be involved in that? And how much disk
space should I budget on?
What would be really nice is if I could ask git: "what's in the
linux-vax tree that's not in Linus' tree (as of 2.6.18)?", and for git
to give me the diff as a patch.
But I'm a bit lost here.... git-diff-tree looks close, but not close
enough. Suggestions?
