 Yay!

And to contradict the alleged zero speed I shall take the opportunity to
announce the small port update I uploaded a few days ago to my FTP site.

Included are new GDB packages, both a native one (featuring gdbserver as
well) and an i386-to-VAX cross-debugger (capable of talking to gdbserver
from the native package). They work reasonably, but require a kernel
update to provide a working ptrace(2) interface.

I have the kernel patches available, however they are require a further
clean-up (mainly a functional split into self-contained parts) before they
can be included upstream. I intend to post them here in the near future,
once that clean-up has been complete, however if interested in fiddling
with GDB, then please enquire, I will be happy to supply them.

The port update also includes newer binutils, patched for correct PLT
support. That was required to build working GDB and AWK binaries. The
latter is included too.

And last but not least corrected glibc packages are included as well.
Fixes include bits noticed in the course of making GDB packages, most
importantly some thread_db changes to support an architecture with no
separate floating-point registers and also a clone(3) syscall wrapper
rewrite. The original wrapper was non-functional, as revealed by
gdbserver that uses this library call.

Packages have been uploaded in the usual place:

ftp://ftp.linux-mips.org/pub/linux/mips/people/macro/

SRPMS/ -- for the sources,
RPMS/vax/ -- for the VAX binaries,
RPMS/i386/ -- for the cross-tools,
RPMS/noarch/ -- for the cross-libraries.

 Enjoy!

  Maciej
