Dumm gefragt:
Dein Proxy ist im enviroment gesetzt? Mit ein bischen glueck (es ist
leider nirgends in der man-page erwaehnt) reagiert s_client darauf
genauso wie wget, curl, u.a..
curl(1):
ENVIRONMENT
       http_proxy [protocol://]<host>[:port]
              Sets proxy server to use for HTTP.

       HTTPS_PROXY [protocol://]<host>[:port]
              Sets proxy server to use for HTTPS.

ansonsten... faellt mir nicht viel ein ausser an s_client selbst hand
anlegen, wobei s_client(1):
BUGS
       ... the C source of s_client is rather hard to read and not a
model of how things should be done.
