I've make a new Skolelinux CD image, prerelease 39.  It is available
from <URL:ftp://developer.skolelinux.no/skolelinux-cd/>.  The image
size is 650 MiB.

Major changes since the previous image:

     * In first stage installer (debian-installer):
          + Now uses /tmp as tmpfs (ram file system). (Fixes bug #172)
            [Petter]
          + LVM is fully supported by autopartkit, and used on the system
            partitions. (Fixes bug #271) [Petter]
          + Lots of others, mostly invisible to users. [Debian]
          + Improved HW autodetection support. [Debian/Petter]
     * Added support for netgroups in LDAP. (Fixes bug #209) [Student
       group/Petter]
     * Security updates to: cupsys (to 1.1.14-5), gzip (to
       1.3.2-3woody1), imagemagick (to 4:5.4.4.5-1woody1), opera (to
       6.12-20030502.2-shared-qt), pcmcia-cs (to 3.1.33-6woody1) and
       tcptraceroute (to 1.2-2)
     * Upgraded OpenOffice.org (to 1.0.2-2.3pre2+woody.AFK.2), this time
       including support for German, French and Dutch. [Gaute]
     * Changed IRC client from kvirc to ksirc. [Knut]
     * Added etherwake utility program. [Petter]
     * Upgrade LTSP kernel from 2.4.9 to 2.4.19. [Ragnar]
     * Upgraded kernel version from 2.4.20 to 2.4.21. (Fixes bug #383,
       #395) [Petter]
     * Dropped support for SCSI CDROM, to get the new boot floppy
       building. [Petter]
     * Several improvements to the webmin module for LDAP administration.
       [Finn-Arne]
          + Added support for adding and removing groups
          + Added support for user editing, including group membership

     * I probably forgot something.

I have testet that the CD is bootable and installable using VMWare.

A list of known bugs is available from <URL:http://bugs.skolelinux.no/>.

The following configuration for server and LTSP-server should work out
of the box:

 - Apache
 - CUPS
 - DHCP
 - DNS
 - LDAP
 - LTSP
 - NFS/SMB
 - NTP
 - SMTP/IMAP
 - SSH
 - Squid
 - Webmin

The following services do not work as they should:

 - cfengine (need netgroups, ie LDAP or NIS)
 - Backup (no one has worked on it)
 - SQL-tjener (will not install automatically)
 - ez publish (no one has worked on it)
 - Appletalk (no one has worked on it)
 - User administration (unfinished implementation)

Test it and find out more. :-)
