Vorhanden: SPARCstation 5 mit Monitor, keyboard und disk, OHNE floppy, OHNE CD-Laufwerk "Sarge" Official sparc binary DVD 1 + DVD 2 x86-Rechner mit SuSE 9.1 installiert und DVD-Laufwerk Hab' den kernel boot/sparc32 von der ersten DVD in a.out umgwandelt und per arp, rarpd und tftpboot die Sun gebootet, bootparamd läuft auch (Eintrag in /etc/bootparams: ss5 root=hercules:/media/dvd/debian ). Ergebnis: Sun läuft hoch bis "NET4: Unix domain sockets ... "VFS: Cannot open root device "" or 00:00 Please append a correct "root=" bootoption Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00 Press L1-A to return to the boot prom" Frage: will die kiste hier ein root-filesystem?, wie wird das aus den DVD's erstellt; wie läßt sich mit Bordmitteln ( sarge-DVD's) ein lauffähiges System installieren? geht das überhaupt? muß ich mir nun ein CD/DVD-Lufwerk für die sun zulegen?
