Ispell und Umlaute

Hallo zusammen,

unter meiner alten Slackware Distir hatte ich ispell soweit, dass ich
auch Umlaute im Text schreiben konnte (\usepackage[german]{babel}), und
ispell trotzdem richtig gelesen hat. Jetzt unter Mandrake 7.1 geht es
nicht mehr - egal ob mit german.hash oder deutsch.hash, warum?
Hatte ich unter Slackware eine andere Hash-Datei?
