Schmeiß' doch einfach mal den kppp weg und nimm pppconfig. Damit
konfigurierst Du Dir einen peer, und diesen wählst Du dann mit 'pon
<peername>'. Wenn Du als User zur Gruppe dialout gehörst, brauchst Du
dazu ebenfalls _keine_ root-Rechte.
