grub und windumm

hi,

hab mal meine Windumm Platte wieder eingebaut und versuche jetzt,
sie per Grub zum Starten zu bringen. Die Platte ist korrekt da
als (hd1). Von der ersten Partition sollte er booten, also sag
ich:
root (hd1,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1
boot

...und lande wieder am grub-Prompt. Keine Fehlermeldung zu sehen
(oder zu schnell weg um sie zu sehen...). Ideen?

Achja: Wenn ich im Bios die Bootreihenfolge ändere kann ich von
der Platte booten, es ist ein ganz normales Win 98 ohne weitere
Bootmanager drauf.
