Can I specify the domain suffix search order?
Q: Can I specify the domain suffix search order?
A: No. If you want to send a single domain name, use the domain-name
option. The current DHCP spec doesn't support specifying a domain suffix
search list.
Q: Can I specify the domain suffix search order?
A: You can use a WINS server to supply this information to Windows
clients and then have the DHCP server point them at the WINS server for
this information. It's a two-step process, but should work. If you don't
have an NT box handy for running a WINS server, then you can use the
freely available Samba tool (http://samba.anu.edu.au/samba/) to setup a
WINS server on a UNIX machine.
