Imho ist ein Hardware Raid immer sein Geld wert. Ich habe auch diverse
Software-Raid-5's laufen - Bisher ohne groessere Probleme (Mehrfach
platten kaputt und hot-swap technisch ausgetauscht).

Bei entsprechenden CPUs ist der eigentliche Raid code kein
Performanceproblem durch effiziente ausnutzung von sse/mmx opcodes.
