Notebook: AthlonXP-M; WLAN

Am Donnerstag, den 11. März hub Patrick Willam folgendes in die Tasten:

> CPU ist AMD AthlonXP-M ("3000+") laeft laut Knoppix* auf etwas ueber
> 700 MHz ; sollte aber auf 1600MHz laufen bzw. laufen koennen.
> *) bunte Startmeldungen von Knoppix 3.3 (Kernel 2.4.xx);
>    `cat /proc/cpuinfo` sagt dasgleiche

Laeuft die Kiste mit Netzteil oder ohne?
Wenn ich mein DenkBrett[TM] ohne Netz boote, sieht das so aus:

max at pandora:~$ grep "model\ name\|MHz" /proc/cpuinfo 
model name      : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1500MHz
cpu MHz         : 599.502

mit angeschlossenem Netzteil stehen da ~1500 Mhz.
Das ganze loewt ohne irgendeinen cpufreq-krams unter 2.4.xy, sprich
"Intel SpeedStep Technology(C)(R)[TM]" => BIOS

> 1. Ist `cat /proc/cpuinfo` die 'authoritative answer' diesbezgl.?

Jein. wenn das BIOS "Mist" erzaehlt, hast Du verloren :-)
