ext3 Partition über-cp't

Hallo Liste,

nen Kumpel von mir hat nen mächtiges Problem: Er hat per cp ne Datei
(wohl einige MB groß) direkt auf das Device einer Partition kopiert.
(Meckert cp da nich eigentlich??)
Nach folgender Ausgabe vermute ich, dass die Partitionstabelle im Eimer ist:

fsck.ext3 -b 8193 /dev/cciss/c0d1p1
e2fsck 1.37 (21-Mar-2005)
fsck.ext3: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open
/dev/cciss/c0d1p1

Hat er noch ne Chance, an seine Daten zu kommen?
