...daß vermutlich eine Lib auf Deinem System nicht zu den header files
paßt, mit der die Applikation gebaut worden ist.

- Was für ein System ist das? i386? Oder x86_64 mit 32bit userland?
  Oder ...?
- Ist das reproduzierbar? Wenn ja, wie schnell?
- Hast Du z.B. `firefox' mal mit der "--sync"-Option aufgerufen?
- Kannst Du die kleineste Applikation, die dieses Problem aufweist,
  einmal lokal kompilieren und ausführen? Tritt dabei das Problem dann
  noch auf? (-> Dazu braucht Du sie _nicht_ zu installieren.)
- Wenn ja, kannst Du die Applikation von gdb aus starten (direkt aus
  dem build tree heraus, damit sie nicht gestript ist), ebenfalls mit
  der "--sync"-Option und dann 'nen backtrace machen.
