Also ich betreibe hier sowohl sid, als auch woody und das Packet
freetype2-dev existiert hier nicht. Wahrscheinlich ist es bei dir
vorhanden, weil es die Potato Quellen noch hat. Die Version von
freetype2 (Das transition-Packet) hat hier übrigens bei woody die
Versionsnummer 1.4pre.20011029-1.

freetype2 - Dummy package for transition to libttf2.
libttf-dev - FreeType 1 development files (static library and headers).
libttf2 - FreeType 1, The FREE TrueType Font Engine, shared library files.


Ich würde dir vorschlagen einfach libttf-dev zu nehmen.
