Notebook: AthlonXP-M; WLAN

Hallo Listlinge

Ich moecht mir nen Notebook zulegen und hab deswegen einige Fragen...

CPU ist AMD AthlonXP-M ("3000+") laeft laut Knoppix* auf etwas ueber
700 MHz ; sollte aber auf 1600MHz laufen bzw. laufen koennen.
*) bunte Startmeldungen von Knoppix 3.3 (Kernel 2.4.xx);
    `cat /proc/cpuinfo` sagt dasgleiche

1. Ist `cat /proc/cpuinfo` die 'authoritative answer' diesbezgl.?
2. Wenn nein, was [fuer ein Befehl] dann?
3. Wo/Womit kann man sehen, wie es mit dem Anpassen des CPU-Takts
    [bei Last] funktioniert (PowerNow/SpeedStep/.../WhatSoEver)?
    Oder muss man das erst irgendwo anschalten? => Wo?

4. Wie/Wo/Womit kann man feststellen, ob das eingebaute WLAN treiber-
    technisch voll unterstuetzt wird / funktioniert?
    (moeglichst ohne einen extra AP dabei zu haben / zu benutzen)
