Loop Mount Device

Nach einem Backup einer IDE-Platte mit

'dd if=/dev/hda of=/tmp/hda.dmp'

wollte ich diese nun als loopdevice mounten (leider ist der
Backupfall eingetreten ;)). Momentan hänge ich etwas an der
Tatsache daß es ein komplettes Image der Platte ist und nicht
nur eins einer Partition. Das mounten nach dem Schema

'mount -t vfat -o loop /tmp/hda1.dmp /mnt/hda1' ist damit
ja nun nicht wirklich möglich, oder?

Kann ich trotzdem eine Partition des Gesamtimages als loop
einhängen? Hat jemand einen Tip wo mein Denkfehler ist...?
